The service
Outduel runs public product matchups. It provides:
- public duels between two comparable products;
- community voting;
- a public ranking and champion status;
- where enabled, the ability to submit a product and bid for the next challenger position.
Submissions
By submitting a product you confirm you are entitled to submit that product, link and content. We may reject a submission that is irrelevant to the matchup or category, unlawful, misleading, abusive, infringing, fraudulent or otherwise unsuitable.
Paid bids
Where paid bidding is enabled:
- A payment buys participation: competitive placement for the next challenger opportunity under the rules in force at the time. Bidding starts at $1, with a minimum increment of $1.
- The highest valid paid bid when the auction closes earns the next challenger position. Equal bids are settled by the earliest successfully completed valid payment.
- A payment does not buy votes, #1, a ranking outcome, or any amount of traffic, clicks, exposure or sales.
- Public voting alone decides the champion and #1.
Bidding is not necessarily available at all times. Nothing here states that payments are currently being accepted.
Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. A paid bid remains paid if you are later outbid; being outbid does not by itself create a right to a refund.
We may refund or reverse a payment where:
- the submission is rejected before it is fulfilled;
- the payment is fraudulent, invalid or reversed;
- a refund is required by law; or
- we decide a refund is appropriate.
Paid bidding is not currently available. Before it is enabled, consumer withdrawal rights and the refund process for the live checkout will be set out here.
Availability and changes
We may postpone or cancel a duel, reject a challenger, invalidate votes we consider manipulated, correct technical errors, change future minimum bids or rules, and suspend functionality. Where we cancel something already paid for and it is not fulfilled, we will refund it or handle it as the law requires.
No guarantees
Outduel is an informal public preference competition. We do not guarantee any amount of traffic, votes, clicks, sales or conversions, any particular ranking outcome, or uninterrupted availability. Results carry no warranty of commercial outcome.
Intellectual property
Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Showing a product in an unofficial comparison does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or partnership. Outduel is independent and every matchup is unofficial unless we explicitly state otherwise, including the opening ShipFast vs Supastarter exhibition, in which neither product nor founder is a customer, participant, sponsor or endorser. Outduel is not affiliated with Outbid.
